Job Summary:
TheDirector of Project Management will lead and oversee all aspects of projectmanagement within China, ensuring the successful execution of projects frominception to completion. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-onmanagement of design, procurement, construction, and franchise-relatedprojects. The Director will play a crucial role in aligning project executionwith corporate standards and strategic objectives, enhancing propertydevelopment, and maximizing value for stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
· Leadthe strategic planning and execution of projects, ensuring alignment withcorporate goals and standards.
· Oversee pre-project reviews, design,procurement, and construction processes, collaborating with diversestakeholders including joint venture partners, consultants, and governmentdepartments.
· Develop and enforce design strategies,standards, and guidelines to ensure compliance with brand requirements andProperty Improvement Plans (PIPs).
· Collaborate with the regional Design& Technical Services team to create regionally appropriate hotel designs.
· Manage project budgets, timelines, andresources to ensure financial efficiency and compliance.
· Supervise quality and complianceduring on-site construction, ensuring adherence to approved drawings and brandstandards.
· Communicate and collaborateeffectively with designers, architects, engineers, contractors, and otherstakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
· Liaise with Business Development onpre-development activities and support strategic initiatives.
· Monitor and enforce quality standards,conducting inspections and validations of mock-up rooms and project sites.
· Oversee fire life and safetyactivities in collaboration with the Head of MEP Design Services.
· Prepare and maintain comprehensiveproject reports and documentation, ensuring timely updates on project progressand status.
· Research and engage with leadingInterior and Architectural Design Firms, maintaining a database of specialistsin hospitality projects.
· Pursue continuous professionaldevelopment and stay informed of industry trends and innovations.
· This role demands a visionary leaderwho can integrate strategic planning with operational execution, ensuring thatprojects not only meet but exceed quality and performance standards. TheDirector will be pivotal in driving Ascott's growth and success within theChina region through collaborative and innovative project management.
Requirements:
· Atleast 10 years of experience in the architectural or engineering design field withstrong project management skills.
· Holdsan Architectural or Engineering degree from an accredited institution.
· Experiencedin managing internal multi-disciplinary teams in the development of hospitalityprojects.
· Capableof effectively managing third-party consultants.
· Independentthinker who is comfortable with proactive innovation, managing change, andleading department initiatives.
· Experiencedin working with respect for local cultures and the ability to adapt solutionsto changing needs and environments.
· Possessesa comprehensive understanding of hotel and resort operations, including rooms,food and beverage, spa, and meeting space flow.
· Hasan eye for detail and good analytical skills, capable of making sound businessdecisions.
· Highlyorganized, charismatic, and a hands-on team player with exceptionalcommunication and negotiation skills.
· Strongworking knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, CAD, InDesign, Photoshop,or similar design presentation software.
· Willingnessand ability to travel as required.
