Job Description:
This role develops and execute overall trade strategy and activities for theme park, water park and 3 hotels.
Manage relationship and negotiations with major strategic trade partners.
Direct and manage a team of Sales staff and ensure high motivation to deliver Trade strategy and trade attendance and revenue targets.
Stay abreast of competitor and industry trends to maximize growth and leverage emerging markets.
Key Objective:
Deliver Trade attendance and Revenue targets for theme park, water park and 3 hotels. Ensure the right product mix to meet trade requirements and ability to reach set targets.
Execute corrective action if needed to reach targets.
Ensure Trade Marketing investment stays within agreed budget frames.
Job Responsibility:
1. Develop trade sales strategy and ensure execution of plans across all Trade channels with necessary campaigns to reach a successful grand opening trade volume/revenue target for ticket, hotel rooms and related products.
2. Work together with Marketing & Sales Director to set up and execute Trade targets, budgets & plans.
3. To strategically analyze business performance to facilitate accurate and meaningful forecasting, involving the respective Heads of Department as appropriate.
4. Establish and lead negotiations with key trade partners in the region, nation, and even targeted international markets.
5. Work together with Revenue Management and give inputs to product needs and put forward proposal on price setting via trade channels.
6. Ongoing tracking of performance across all trade channels and recommend contingency actions to ensure guest and revenue targets are achieved.
7. Work with Hotel Director to develop and manage hotel room sales via Trade channels.
8. Participates in industry organizations and trade shows to build relationships and grow the Trade sales.
9. To constantly monitor and evaluate local, national and international market trends, and the competitors’ sales initiatives, in order to make sure the park’s marketing and sales remain competitive and cutting edge.
10. Work closely with other company attractions to ensure alignment on T&C and maximize guest and revenue.
11. Work tighter with the other LEGOLAND parks and resorts to share insights, ensure alignment on Trade Terms and Conditions across all LEGOLAND parks & resorts as well as ensure coordination and alignment on communication plans via the trade channels.
12. To maintain strong, professional relationships with relevant representatives from competitor hotels, business partners and other organizations.
13. To be aware of community, business, political and social factors that may affect the park’s financial performance.
14. Responsible for sales contract negotiation and signing with trade partners.
15. To ensure that all park, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to financial record keeping, money handling and licensing are adhered to, including the timely and accurate reporting of financial information.
16. To make sure all sales proposals, collateral, digital tools, and other sales communications are in line with the LEGOLAND and Merlin brand standards, and up to date in terms of information.
17. To manage all sales strategy, tactics, and action implementations, to create a strong and disciplined sales team who achieve their sales goals.
18. Develop and manage sales team and set up KPI, SOP and related policy for sales department.
19. To proactively manage all the sales resources and funds, and control departmental costs.
20. To assist Marketing & Sales Director for the preparation and update of the Departmental Operations Manuals.
21. To conduct regular departmental communications meetings and ensure departmental briefings and meetings are effective and conducted as necessary.
22. To conduct annual Performance Development Discussions and to support employees in their professional development goals.
23. To maximize the effectiveness of every Sales employee by developing each individuals’ skills and abilities through the appropriate training, coaching, and/or mentoring.
24. To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Key Skills:
1. Experience in a theme park, hotel, resort or attraction a plus.
2. Minimum of 5 years of management experience, with significant personnel leadership and sales responsibility.
3. Track record of success developing and implementing operational and tactical sales plans.
4. Advanced computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite of projects.
5. Ability to think strategically and conceptually.
6. Ability to influence others at all organizational levels.
7. Strong negotiation skills.
Education Background:
1. Bachelor’s degree required. Majors in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or another related field preferred.
2. Fluent in written and spoken English and Mandarin
Other Job Requirements:
1. Must have or be able to get a valid passport for travel aboard.
2. Must be willing to travel locally, regionally and internationally to conduct business on a frequent basis.
3. Must be willing to work flexible hours.
